Our railway is closed

Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, we are closed to the public and all visitors for the rest of 2020. Sadly, this includes the popular Christmas and Halloween events.

It is not possible to book any tickets at this time.

Please see our Covid-19 appeal page for more details.

Teddy Bears Picnic [archived]

If you go down to catch the train you’re sure of a big surprise…

Children can bring their favourite teddy to meet Bearnie the Bear and the Mad Hatter for storytelling and photos. There’s face painting from Kaz A Doodle as well, and you can pre-order picnics or collect snack bags on the day.

There’ll be arts and crafts on offer – with colouring, cutting, and sticking – young cubs can make little painted teddy tiles and bunting to take home with them as memory of their day out.

Every child who brings a teddy can enter in a competition to win some special prizes.

We recommend that you pre-book your tickets – use the button below.

This event runs on Saturday 24th August 2019, doors open around 12:30pm. Last train departs at 4pm

Summer events at DCDR are supported by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
