This page shows times and fares for our running days. May Bank Holidays, Summer trains and Mince Pie trains all run to a standard timetable and have standard fares, with tickets providing all-day access to the railway and all trains.
Special event days (e.g. St Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas, as well as Summer events) will have different fares and timetables, so please check the website first.

Standard Fares – all-day access
These fares permit you to spend the whole afternoon at the railway from opening time to closing time, and travel as many times as you want. It includes access to the museum, carriage gallery, and all other public areas of the railway.

You can pay for your tickets on arrival at our station, or buy your tickets online. For standard running days, your tickets permit access to the railway from opening time to closing time, and you can travel as many times as you want. This does not apply to special events such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

Footplate pass details:
- Footplate experiences are subject to availability.
- The cost of the footplate experience includes an adult all day ticket.
- This may not always be possible due to operational reasons.
- We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
- Check if the day has steam or diesel locomotives if you have a particular preference
- Adults only. A reasonable level of fitness is required to climb into a locomotive. See our Footplate Experience page for more details.

Your journey will last approximately 10 minutes each direction. You can alight at Inch Abbey Station to walk to the Abbey, or enjoy the buffet carriage – or stay on board and have as many return journeys as you like. Your visit will typically take 2 hours to experience everything at the railway, but you can stay until the doors close if you want.
There’s plenty to see and do around the railway during your visit, make sure you see everything! Our museum and carriage gallery are open as usual, our new signal cabin can be viewed from the platform, and the model railway layout and shop are open as well.
You can stay at the railway as long as you like up to the end of the day.
Last admissions are at 3:45pm for the 4pm departure.
