Some new designs have just arrived in our merchandise range. We felt that it’s about time that the classic Northern Ireland Railway’s “Thumper” diesel railcars were represented in badge form.
It was a difficult decision—do we do the 1970s retro-liveried 80 class, or the (slightly) more modern 450 class design, of Derry Girls fame? Well, in truth, we couldn’t decide, so we did both.
Available now, these all-new enamel badge designs depict our 80 class power car No.69 in 1970s maroon/blue livery and 450 class set No.458 “Antrim Castle” in its modern blue/silver livery, just as it appeared on TV. Should these prove popular, we may well look into producing further designs…
Proceeds from the sale of these badges will go towards heritage carriage projects at our railway.
