A busy week of exhibitions for the DCDR team

Despite no trains running, the second week of April proved to be quite a productive one for the DCDR team in terms of promoting our railway, with our stall appearing at two major railway-themed events.

DCDR volunteers are model citizens at Bangor show

Over the weekend of 12/13th April we attended the North Down Model Railway Show in Bangor, one of the main events in the Irish railway enthusiast calendar. Our volunteers, John, Johnathan and Shea worked tirelessly over the weekend at our stall, chatting to people about our railway museum and the preservation work we do in keeping Northern Ireland’s railway heritage alive. Our full range of souvenirs was on sale, and this has contributed to our fundraising efforts considerably.

DCDR attends Ireland’s first ever Rail Link conference

Earlier in the week we were honoured to attend the first ever Rail Link conference to be held in Dublin. Robert and Niall were there with our stand in the Aviva Stadium on 10th April, promoting our heritage railway to the wider rail industry in general.
