Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea goes down a treat at Downpatrick

On Mother’s Day the Downpatrick & County Down Railway welcomed lots of families aboard to celebrate the occasion with our first ever Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea trains, it certainly seems to have gone down a treat. Two trains operated, with each of them selling out well in advance.

Working with local catering provider Mange Tout, mums, grandmas and aunties were served a scrumptious meal of sandwiches and sweet treats as they trundled down the line in our celebrity ‘Derry Girls’ diesel railcar set, No.458 “Antrim Castle”.

We’ve included some lovely photographs from the day, perhaps you’ll spot yourself or a loved on in them.

Missed out? Don’t worry, we’ve more Afternoon Tea trains planned throughout the year, keep an eye on our social medias or join our mailing list and you’ll be the first to know.
