1918 was one of the first carriages to arrive on our heritage railway, fresh out of CIÉ service in 1987. An important example of one of only a few surviving ‘laminate’ carriages, a unique Irish design, it’s been out of service for quite a few years and is looking rather worse for wear, inside and out. We plan on making that right, and our volunteers have begun efforts to restore 1918 so that it looks as good as it did the day it emerged from Inchicore Works in 1957.

All donations towards this project, small or large, are most welcome. By giving to this appeal YOU will be helping get this lovely old carriage back on the rails for all to enjoy.
Thank you
